Kaija Mistral Towner is a hair and make-up artist with nearly two decades of experience in the beauty industry. After graduating at the top of her class from Vancouver Film School, Kaija moved to Seattle to work for Laura Mercier Cosmetics. From there, she moved into the styling department at Nordstrom corporate, which gave her a chance to be on some major sets with some of the industry's heavy hitters. At this time Kaija launched her freelance career and began traveling between Seattle and New York to work in film, television and commercials. In 2020, to expand her skill set and broaden her horizons, Kaija went back to school to become a licensed cosmetologist. She is now a proud IATSE member and deeply involved in the Northwest film scene. In 2021 she had the opportunity to Key the hair department on the feature film “Dreamin Wild” starring Casey Affleck and Zooey Deschanel. Her favorite part of work now is laughing and collaborating with the crew and talent to put everyone at ease. When not on set, she loves taking a dance class and then possibly cooking an over-complicated meal. Whether on set or off, Kaija demonstrates an enthusiasm and joy that inspires those around her.
